    Not a metal worker, but used an abrasive cutoff chop saw years ago for cutting closet pole. Thought it was primitive at best. Now you have real cutting blades to do the job that last and don’t spew grit all over a clean shop. Progress

    I am no expert but I would have done the plate on the blade in two sections and welded the first section to the internal ribbing just like the small fix you did.

    Pro tip from an old guy: when you try to loosen a bolt or nut and it does not move, try to tighten it a little bit. Sometimes by doing so, it breaks loose so you can remove it without it breaking. Sometimes it works.
